Compress a PDF without installing software

When compression helps
Compression helps most when the PDF contains high-resolution images, scanned pages, or unnecessary embedded fonts. It helps less when the file is already mostly text or was exported with low image quality.
A simple workflow
- Open PDF Tools.

- Upload a copy of the document you are allowed to process.
- Download the result and open it to check readability.
- If text looks soft, try a milder setting or compress only image-heavy pages after splitting.
Quality tips
- Keep an uncompressed master copy.
- For print, prefer higher quality; for email, prefer smaller size.
- If OCR is involved, run OCR before aggressive compression when possible.
